About Us

CBTS, LLC is a Utah limited liability Company dedicated to fostering a balanced approach to the development of community based programs and services. The goal of CBTS, LLC is to identify the needs of individuals and families who are experiencing social or emotional difficulties and to serve as a catalyst for active program development designed to meet those needs. Our focus is on decreasing problem behavior and increasing developmentally appropriate normative and pro-social behavior in adolescents who are in need of out-of-home placement. These treatment goals are accomplished by providing:

  • Close supervision
  • Fair and consistent limits
  • Predictable consequences for rule breaking
  • A supportive relationship with program staff
  • Reduced exposure to peers with similar problems

CBTS feels inherent advantages are derived from keeping youth connected to their communities and targeting sanctions and services to meet their specific treatment needs. CBTS treatment interventions are multifaceted and occur in multiple settings. Treatment components include:

  • Behavioral proctor parent training and support for proctor parents
  • Family member involvement in the treatment and rehabilitation of youth
  • Skills training for youth
  • Supportive individual and family therapy for youth addressing behavior, attitudes and perceptions
  • Supportive group therapy for youth
  • School-based behavioral interventions and academic support
  • Services, support and supervision that wrap around a youth and family in an individualized way
  • Linking with psychiatric consultation and medication management, when needed
  • Aftercare services and treatment

CBTS was incorporated on April 1, 1991 and has been licensed by the State of Utah Department of Human Services Division of Juvenile Justice Services since that time for individual residential care, intensive supervision, individual and family counseling and group therapy.
