Clinical Program

CBTS provides clinical services under licensed practitioners to youth in state's custody. Clinical services include: psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, intra-interagency staffing and collaboration, program development and clinical supervision, along with individual, family and group therapy. Although the majority of clinical services are delivered to youth who are in individual or family based care, these services are also utilized for youth and families in other levels of care and in home placements.

The CBTS clinical team is comprised of a full time clinical supervisor as well as contracted licensed mental health practitioners from the community. CBTS contracts with professionals possession varied expertise and interests with particular emphasis on cognitive-emotive learning, attachment/relationship issues, identity/self worth realms, community responsibility, substance abuse, insight building, grief and loss issues and gender specific interventions.

The clinical component is an integral component of the team approach CBTS adheres to in providing services to youth in care.

CBTS clinical services include:

MCA (Mental Health Assessment)

The mental health assessment will identify the nature, existence and extent of illness, injury, or other health deviation for the purpose of determining the client's need for rehabilitative or other medically necessary services such as therapy or skills development and establishing written objectives for the provision of such services. This will be a face-to-face evaluation with the client. The content of the assessment will comply with Medicaid requirements. It will be completed by qualified staff as outlined in the Mental Health Practice Act.

Individual Mental Health Therapy

This service constitutes face-to-face interventions with a focus on improving the youth's emotional and mental adjustment and social functioning based on measurable treatment goals. This service will be prescribed by a licensed mental health therapist based on an evaluation of the client's needs.

Family Therapy

CBTS understands the important role that families play in a child's life. Our family therapist will work with the specific needs of each family to assist with healthier relationships, positive interactions, establishing boundaries and roles within the family system. Family Therapy is key to the success of each youth and supporting the individual permanency goal.
